Welcome to My Studio. 

I’m Krystal Mercer McLellan, a mixed media artist, global traveler, and creative entrepreneur telling stories through art inspired by nature, literature, and memory. My work spans paper cutout collages, watercolor paintings, miniature art, and dioramas. Each piece is crafted to spark reflection and invite connection.

Community and collaboration are at the heart of what I do. I host regular meetups for artists, writers, and makers to exchange ideas and create together. Though I’m often on the move, I stay grounded by volunteering with local art alliances, mentoring emerging artists, and partnering with small businesses to support creativity at the local level.

Recently, my work has taken on a darker, more literary tone, drawing inspiration from the Brontë sisters (Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights) and American classics like Moby Dick and Leaves of Grass. At the same time, I’ve been exploring mandala-making. The practice is both meditative and visually rewarding.

Right now, I’m taking time to focus on my novel. It’s a genre-bending blend of Southern Gothic, techno-horror, and historical fiction. While I don’t have a new art collection in the works at the moment, you can follow my fiction writing journey by subscribing to my Substack, The Porch Lighter by KMM Artist Writes, a meta-fictional publication that weaves together storytelling, reflection, and creativity.
