Narcissus's Sister - 8" by 6" Mixed Media Painting
Do you know the alternate take on the legend of Narcissus? This is my own visual interpretation of that story. To console himself for the untimely death of his twin sister, the Greek demigod Narcissus sat gazing at his own reflection in the clear water of a spring trying to recall her features. Unable to pull himself away from his own beautiful reflection, he meets his tragic end pining away at the creekside.
This mixed media oil pastel piece is framed and matted in a black shadowbox and embellished with little pink and white handmade acrylic rosettes. It comes with a complimentary set of damage-free wall hanging hardware. Or you may decide it works better for you as shelf art! 8" by 6" Mixed Media Painting, 1" deep. Oil pastel, acrylic glazing, acrylic rosettes, cardstock matting, and cotton canvas panel. The painting pops out easily for reframing.
